At least three people have been killed by gunfire at the passenger terminal of Kabul's international airport as US forces opened fire to disperse panicking crowds seeking to flee the country.
Taliban insurgents entered Kabul on Sunday and President Ashraf Ghani left Afghanistan, bringing the Islamist militants closer to taking over the country two decades after they were overthrown by a US-led invasion.
At least five people were killed in Kabul airport as hundreds of people tried to forcibly enter planes leaving the Afghan capital, witnesses told Reuters.
